Bio

John is a Landscape Economist, Urban Forester, Consulting Arborist, and Landscape Designer, with over 40 years of experience in the Green Industry across North America and the Caribbean. Currently, John is the Principal of LANDSCAPE ECONOMICS LLC, an Expert company for assessing and valuing Damage Claims involving trees or landscapes or natural areas. He is also an Expert for personal injury or wrongful death cases involving trees or landscapes, Utility Line Clearance, Arboriculture, Landscaping, and Green Industry practices.

John is also President of EARTH ADVISORS, INC., an independent Green Industry Consulting and Project Management company for Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, Landscape, and Environmental Consulting Services.

His qualifications include being: An ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist, ASCA Tree and Plant Appraisal Qualified, SAF Certified Forester, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, ISA-Florida Trained Nursery Tree Grader, LIAF Certified Landscape Inspector, FL-DEP Registered Professional Mangrove Trimmer, and CTLA trained Tree and Landscape Appraiser. He was inducted into Lambda Alpha International Honorary Land Economics Society in 1997 for his dedicated work determining and defending tree and landscape values.

He has 4 college degrees: Master of Science in Forest Economics from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Master in Business Administration from Syracuse University, Bachelor of Science in Resources Management from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and Associates of Applied Science in Natural Resources Conservation from SUNY Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College.

John has owned and managed landscape maintenance, landscaping, and tree care companies, and worked as a consultant in Utility Forestry in the U.S. and Canada. He has additionally provided business management consulting for a number of nurseries, landscape contractors, and tree care companies in South Florida.

John is an Instructor for the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government, has been an Associate Professor at Miami-Dade College and Seminole County Community College, and been a Vocational Teacher with the Miami-Dade County School Board. He has provided education workshops and seminars for over 75 organizations and businesses, including: Society of American Foresters, International Society of Arboriculture, Florida Urban Forestry Council, Landscape Inspectors Association of Florida, Fairchild Tropical Garden, and Vermont Urban Forestry Council.

John has appeared on TV in Florida and New York as an expert Forester and Arborist. He has been published in newspapers, magazines and trade journals regarding Forestry, Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Landscape Maintenance, and Tree Appraisals.
