Philip van Wassenaer, B.Sc., MFC, is the Principal Consulting Arborist and Founder of Urban Forest Innovations Inc. As an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist and urban forestry consultant with over 30 years of experience, he has built a reputation for his research, professional ethics and innovation.
Philip is a leading expert in Conservation Arboriculture, an ecosystem approach to understanding and managing trees. He has worked on many local, national and international projects. These include the development of twenty-two Urban Forest Management Plans, as well as pest management strategies, tree protection and planting specifications for urban areas, tree risk assessments and tree inventories.
In 2009, Philip was awarded the “True Professional of Arboriculture” award by ISA in recognition of his achievements towards advancing the practice of arboriculture and his commitment to public education and promotion of the latest developments in arboricultural science.
